Warm sunny, windy, real cool pm. Washing machine trouble. Parts man will try to come tomorrow. Rinsed clothes in the bathtub. Ray went morning and again afternoon for shrimp, not very many caught. Decided to work on lot, went out to grove, Dady was planting trees, a job getting that grass out. Ray helped him do one, looked around the grove, showed us where he wants to plant more trees. Ray hoed around all my hibiscus, a good big circle, must fertilize them soon. I mowed, there is a good bit of grass, mostly clumps, looks nicer now with that front part mowed. Dady ate supper with us, Mr. Herndon had brought over pan of mustard and turnip greens, were sure good. Went to Wares about 8 o'clock to see "Cinderella" in color, it was just lovely. Colors so beautiful with the costumes and all. Cinderella and the Prince were perfect, lasted 90 min. The girls really loved it.
Ray was searching for freshwater shrimp, typically called fairy shrimp, to use as bait. To prepare them for baiting, he’d place the shrimp on top of a box fan lying flat on the ground. The fan would dry them out and they could then be used for bait.
