Monday, Feb. 15

Windy, pretty cool 51° AM. Peggy called as soon as they got to school, Tricia was sick at her stomach, lost her breakfast. Ray went after her, she lay on the couch all day. Mr. Scholz came even about 9 to call Mrs. S. Her roommate called me at 11 saying she could come home. Ray took him to Orlando in Dady’s car. They sure were two happy people. She gave me the azalea plant we gave her, also one 3 or 4 times as large, same color, also a double one. I'll plant them beside our house when we get it built. Ray caught shrimp, very quickly baited 4, put out here. Windy, washed 2 loads, ironed, mopped, vacuumed and generally cleaned up. Ready for racking every day since things are caught up. Ray racked almost 2, so we’re caught up there also. Dady had a letter from Ann, she's been sick, gallbladder, can't eat many foods, vomits often, daily she said. Jeff had chicken pox, Jamie wants to ride Lightning. Jimmy almost went to Viet Nam but orders were cancelled. Didn't mention the baby. Mr. Ware gave Ray $20.00 for that nice rod and reel he found in Lake Cypress. Sent Mrs. Nesbit the canopy bed spread ad from Sears. Dady worked today, felt better.

Anne is Myrtle’s sister and Jimmy is her husband. Jimmy was in the military and was stationed in Okinawa when Peggy was little—she remembers this well as Anne sent the family a Japanese jewelry box. Anne’s son James was born in Okinawa.
