Tuesday Feb. 16

Warm, good rain after noon. Tricia stayed home, felt much better. Destry tore down fence, leaning over, broke some posts. Wandered up and down the road, went back into the grove. Ray sold 10 traps to Son for $20.00, 11 to Bob for $22.00 (but this went on the bill). Had $13.00 fish, put out here again, in open water. Took Mr. Ware 4 bass. Went to Dr. Green for my checkup today, first since May ‘63 all is well, had a complete physical, cost $20.00, that’s sure a lot, enough to make me sick. But the hurting I've had in my breasts for the past 6 or 8 weeks is probably due to a hormone imbalance because of the small cyst on my left ovary. Just has my system out of order temporarily. Sure happy to know there is nothing wrong.

Myrtle’s mother had breast cancer which went undiagnosed and eventually metastasized into bone cancer. In this entry Myrtle says that she’s “happy nothing is wrong,” but while there is a small cyst, she’s almost certainly expressing relief that it’s not cancer.
