Rain AM, clear windy cool PM. Ray had $37.00 this morning. Put out 4 more shrimp. Ben agreed to pay 2¢ more on reds but it must go on the bill till it’s paid. Called Fran tonite, they aren’t coming this year. I’m really glad I’m afraid. I dread the idea of moving out and everything. Maybe when we move out again it will be for good. Sold $5.00 scale fish also.


Myrtle, Ray and the children lived in a house owned by the Sayres, who spent much of their year up north. When the Sayres came to Florida, the Seavers had to move out. Read 1965: Setting the Stage for more details.
