Monday February 1, 1965

Real cold AM, frost, warmed up in the afternoon, only needed a light sweater pm to wear to P.T.A. meeting. Saw Carolyn (Lynes) Hall, she’s home while her husband is in Viet Nam. First time to see her since graduation, had a nice visit with her and others. Mrs. Walkins spoke to me about Peggy not doing her work the first 2 weeks after vacation but she seems to be doing better. Wish she’d learn not to poke around. Teacher said Peg made the highest grade on a reading test. Ray caught enough shrimp for 2 days. Put out 4. Ben came out to see Ray and Bub, the selling of fish to Paul was too much for him. Seems like he’s considering giving them an extra 2¢, will let us know tomorrow. Ray went into Alcorns with Mr. Ware, he bought a 40hp motor. Since Ray saved him almost $200.00, he wanted to pay Ray something, but he wouldn’t take it. Did give him $10.00 for bass again. The big excitement today was Patricia, she and the rest of the Brownie troop went to Orlando to be on the Uncle Walt Show. She looked so cute and sounded so well, was sure proud of her. Peggy and Missy and I went to get her at 6 o’clock after we fed the horse and calves. Capt. Anderson was riding one of their horses, she was beautiful. Herndons are leaving for GA tomorrow to get the trailer they bought Christmas.
