Sanford Porchfest 2021
The fourth annual Sanford Porchfest 2021, held February 27, was the first time our porch was featured in the event. We hosted:
Porchfest 2021 is also where the idea for The Alligator Inn was born. Just days before the event we learned that there was to be a contest for the best decorated porch. We needed a theme. Chris and I let our imaginations run wild and The Alligator Inn came to life.
We made posters for each band and hung them from the windows of our porch. I ordered a banner. Chris made a hand-painted sign. I knocked together a simple website in about 15 minutes (mostly to amuse Chris). The Alligator Inn was born!
On the day of the event, Chris smoked meat and provided a traditional southern spread—along with refreshments—for our bands. We had a great time meeting the performers, making new friends and visiting with folks we hadn’t seen in awhile.
We came in second for the porch decorating contest, but boy have we had a lot of fun at The Alligator Inn! I love that it’s progressed from a Porchfest theme to a proper website that celebrates family and Florida!
